The southern bank of the River Nile is home to the luxurious, tranquil, remote, and environmentally friendly Nile Safari Lodge. It is one of Uganda’s most lavish wilderness resorts thanks to its inventive and environmentally conscious design that blends in perfectly with its surroundings.
Nile Safari Lodge is a perfect choice for family or luxury travel with only eight secluded wooden triangular-shaped luxurious bandas.
With a thatched roof, spacious seating area, day bed, a generous mosquito net, indoor and outdoor showers, and a private viewing deck with a swing chair and deck chairs, each banda is designed to provide ultimate privacy and comfort. One of these eight bandas has an outdoor star bed and a private plunge pool – ideal for a honeymoon.
The lodge has high-quality amenities such as a fully stocked bar, a restaurant serving both international and local cuisine, and a spacious lounge.
Stroll along the natural stone pathways to reach the free-form infinity swimming pool where you can cool off with leisurely dips or nap in the daybeds with a view of the river flowing lazily beside you. Stop by Mtoni Spa to rejuvenate your body, mind, and soul with wellness treatments ranging from indulging massages to beauty pampering, all while enjoying a 180-degree panoramic view of the wilderness.
The scenic boat ride to view the famous Murchison Falls and various wildlife along the Nile’s banks is a popular activity at Nile Safari Lodge. Other things to do include game drives, a hike-walk excursion to the top of the falls where you can even have brunch, and birdwatching along the swamps of the Lake Albert- Nile Delta.
Nile Safari Lodge is located just outside the Murchison Falls National Park boundary, a 6-hour drive from Kampala via Kichumbanyobo Gate.
It takes 25 minutes to get to Bugungu Airstrip which is the closest airport for chartered flights, from the lodge. However, the lodge can also make arrangements for a jet-ranger helicopter and has a helipad for private helicopters.
